First Snow!

Last night/ this morning we received our first snow for this winter season!  This is not the first snow in Colorado, just where we live. In fact Vail has already had their roads closed a couple of times from snow (no panicking, Vail's elevation is almost double of where we live, it just shows how much the state varies in the type of weather we have).  I was quite excited to wake up this morning to the perfect covering of whiteJ that was until I remembered that I had to drive in it this morning, while it was still snowingL.

Actually, the roads weren’t that bad, especially once I got onto the highway, which had already been plowed.  On the dirt roads around our house I did have to drive about 30mph for 2 miles thoughJ.  By the time Bible study was over and I was heading home visibility was back to normal and I got to enjoy the lovely covering of white all around.

I have been looking forward to winter for a LONG time!  I’ve decided summer in Colorado this year was way too hot and WAY too long (luckily the length of summer this year was longer than it is most yearsJ)!  So, some colder and wetter weather is much welcomed on my part.

Here are some pictures I took around our house this morning; I thought it would give a better perspective on how much snow we got.  I can see some people picturing a very light covering, barely covering the ground, and others freaking out because they think that we are in the middle of a blizzard!  Neither of which are accurate views, but I’ll let you judge that for yourself.
